Take Action

Take Action

Mark 2:1-5 relates a story about four men who cared so deeply about the suffering of their paralyzed friend that they literally physically carried their friend to Jesus.

This is what God wants us to do!

God wants us to care so deeply for others that we take action.  Faith is being willing to take action without any guarantee.  The friends of the paralytic didn’t have any guarantee that their friend would be healed, but they took action anyway.  They brought their friend to Jesus anyway!

Mark 2:5 states: “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Son, your sins are forgiven.’”

Jesus healed the hurting man in response to the faith of his four friends.

Sometimes the hurting people whom God has called us to are so worn out by their suffering that they no longer have faith anymore.  They need to “borrow” from our faith.  They need our faith to carry them to Jesus!

In today’s background photo, the water droplets on the spruce represent the tears of the hurting  …  the droplets are resting  …  supported by the branches of the spruce.  This is what it looks like for us to carry each other’s burdens.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
