Much to my great surprise, the sunflowers are blooming! At the end of July! How cool is that! (usually the sunflowers don’t bloom until September)
I have always thought that each sunflower has just one single flower, which blooms at the top of each stalk.
But I have just discovered the most wonderful surprise!
Each sunflower stalk can produce lots and lots of sunflower blooms! Wherever the leaves branch off the main stalk, a new flower forms!
Here you can see one of the sunflowers in our garden. On this one sunflower alone, there are 10 different flowers forming. Amazing!

Here is another photo of a neighboring sunflower, with multiple flowers forming at the top. I had no idea this was a thing!

Thank you God for sunflower surprises!
Thank you for blessing us with stunning flowers to bring joy to our lives! … and thank You for the amazing way You created them to bloom in abundance!
Thank you God for hiding surprises all throughout our normal every day … so that we can stop short in our tracks, in awe and wonder, and praise You for who You are!

(By the way … did you notice the hidden bee in the background photo?)
