Springtime joys!

Springtime joys!

It was a rare sunny afternoon, and I was out in the garden tidying up the raspberry vines, when I noticed a little garden snake sunning itself quietly and calmly in the glorious sunshine as well. The very first little garden snake of the season! I was thrilled!

Usually, I don’t like snakes. But the shy little garden snakes have found a special place in my heart. They are so peaceable. They mind their own business and don’t cause any trouble. They also help control the mice and rat population (which is a fantastic benefit!)

I love how sometimes their highlight stripe is a brilliant blue … and other times it is yellow. That’s a pretty cool camouflage technique. I now view my bright green garden hose, with its bold yellow stripe, in a whole new light. Haha!

Thank you God for shy little garden snakes. Thank you God for springtime joys!

It’s teeny tiny lilac blooms! This brought me so much joy! I love lilacs!
And there’s a little pollinator bug posing for the photo!

Perhaps part of my delight is that the lilacs are finally getting tall enough that the deer can’t eat off all the blooms and new growth.

Just check out that detail on the little bug’s antenna. God is amazing in his design of creation!

Thank you God for springtime joys!

A bright splash of happy color in the sunshine!

This brought me so much joy!

Thank you God for springtime joys!

A Star Magnolia! Isn’t it absolutely breathtaking! The intricate detail and design of those petals practically “shouts through a megaphone” of God’s creative brilliance as designer!

As hubby and I were out on an evening walk after dinner we noticed a stunning tree, enormous in height, absolutely covered in white blossoms similar to this Star Magnolia. Upon further investigation I discovered it was indeed a Star Magnolia! I had no idea this little plant could grow into such a stunning stately tree of enormous height! That is so exciting to look forward to!

In this I see a picture of each of us. There’s no telling the greatness God has put inside each of us. We have no idea. But God knows what He has put inside us and the “tall stately tree” He is “growing” us to be!

One of the things I love about the Star Magnolia is that its blossoms remind me of almonds, as they are starting to open up. For some reason it makes me think of the account in the Bible where Aaron’s staff budded and bloomed almond blossoms. As I see these little almond-like blooms open up, it makes me happy thinking of God’s power to make Aaron’s staff bloom.

Thank you God for springtime joys!
