Situation Room!

Situation Room!

Hubby and I arrived at the Presidential Library this past Saturday and were informed upon entrance that a lecture on the “Situation Room” would be starting in 10 minutes.   What perfect timing!  (which we hadn’t even planned)

I thoroughly enjoyed the 45 min. lecture about the “Situation Room.”

The “Situation Room” is located in the White House, on the level below the Oval Office.   It is not directly underneath the Oval Office;  but rather on the level below, and across the hall (approximately).

The “Situation Room” was first established under the leadership of President John F. Kennedy, after the failure of the Bay of Pigs invasion.

President Kennedy realized that a major contributing factor to the recent military failure was due to a lack of communication.   Too much information was coming in from too many sources to be able to assimilate effectively.   As such, it was difficult to know which decision was the best to make.

The “Situation Room” is staffed around the clock 24/7 with members from the various national intelligence agencies.   The purpose of the “Situation Room” is to provide the most current information/intelligence  …  and to provide crisis support in times of national emergency.

In its beginnings, the “Situation Room” was just one room.   But since then, it has been expanded to include several different rooms – one of which is a room full of televisions where staff monitor national & international news around the clock!  …  keeping constant tabs on any incident which occurs around the globe.

The “Situation Room” has secure lines of communication for the President to be able to communicate with national leaders from around the world!

The seats around the conference table in the “Situation Room” are based upon role.   The President always sits at the head of the table, and always has control of the video-conferencing remote.   The Chief of Staff are arranged around the table in a specific order  …  each having their own specific place at the table.

As I listened to all the fascinating information about the “Situation Room” I couldn’t help drawing parallels to my own spiritual life.

In life, we all have a ton of information coming in constantly!   We all face nuanced difficult decisions which we must make.   We are entangled in “politically-sticky” situations at work …  as well as in our personal relationships!

How do we know what we should do??

How do we know which is the correct decision to make??

And then an emergency crisis hits our life!!

If we are a follower of Jesus Christ, we have our very own spiritual “Situation Room.”

Just like the leader of our country is only human and cannot keep up with it all – he needs help  –  so also, we are only human and we can’t keep up with it all!   We need help!

As a follower of Jesus Christ, in our very own spiritual “Situation Room” God the Father occupies the place of supreme power and authority at the head of the table.   God the Father is the supreme commander of all creation!   God the Father is the supreme ruler of the entire cosmos!

*   “The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”  – Psalm 24:1

In our very own spiritual “Situation Room” there is 24/7 monitored surveillance of everything which is happening!   In both the physical seen realm  …  as well as the unseen realm of spirit beings.

*   “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.  Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”  – Hebrews 4:13

*   “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”  – Proverbs 15:3

As we proceed to go throughout our life, each normal ordinary day after the next  …  God is constantly monitoring everything from the spiritual “Situation Room.”

–  God knows when our coworkers at work are planning to sabotage us in order to gain an upper hand.   God sees what we can’t see.

–  God knows when someone is slandering us behind our back, in order to elevate themselves.   God sees what we can’t see.

–  God knows when a layoff is coming which will rock our world!   God sees what we can’t see.

God knows  …  and God is monitoring it all from the spiritual “Situation Room.”

*   “The eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”  – 2 Chronicles 16:9

*   “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer.”  – 1 Peter 3:12

God is also fully aware of the activity going on in the unseen spirit realm.

–  God knows when the demonic is launching attacks against us.
–  God knows when the enemy of evil is planting lies in our mind.
–  God knows when the demonic is tempting us towards sin.

–  God knows when the demonic spirit of fear is trying to gain a foothold in our life!

We don’t have to be overwhelmed trying to manage it all on our own.   Especially attacks which come at us from the unseen spirit realm.   We have help!   God is monitoring everything from the spiritual “Situation Room” and God is calling the shots!

*   “The one who fears the LORD will have no fear of bad news;  his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.  His heart is secure, he will have no fear.”  – Psalm 112:7-8

*   “God will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”  – Psalm 91:11

*   “I am with God always;   God holds me by my right hand, God guides me with his counsel.”  – Psalm 73:23-24

God is always with us!   God never leaves the “Situation Room.”   God is helping us and supporting us 24/7 around the clock!

How do we know how to respond in this “politically-sticky” situation at our workplace??   God will counsel us!   God, from the “Situation Room” sees all the angles and knows exactly what is going on.   God will guide and instruct us in how to respond!

*   “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;  I will counsel you and watch over you.”  – Psalm 32:8

How do we know which is the right decision to make in this nuanced, difficult, complicated web??   God will help us!   God will counsel us!   God will guide us!

*   “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way;  walk in it.’”   – Isaiah 30:21

These wonderful benefits of the spiritual “Situation Room” are only for those who are followers of Jesus Christ.   It is only in repenting and giving our sin to Jesus Christ that we are granted access to God’s blessing and goodness in our life!

It is only in surrendering our life to the headship and authority of Jesus Christ that we are granted 24/7 security coverage by God!

Do you have a spiritual “Situation Room” looking after you??

If not, repent of your sin.   Turn from your sin and give your life to Jesus Christ.   The invitation is open to all!    The benefits of a spiritual “Situation Room” are available to all!
