I have been out in the garden planting all our little tomato sprouts.

I just have to say, I am so grateful for my “playpen!” We have a tall fence around our garden to keep the deer out, so they won’t eat our garden goodness. But honestly, whenever I’m out working in the garden, on my hands and knees … with my back to the forest, and all my attention focused on what I’m doing … I’m so thankful for the safety of a fenced-in “playpen” in which to work!
I don’t have to worry about the coyote sneaking stealthily up behind me … while all my attention is focused on panting tomato sprouts.
I don’t have to worry about the bear silently wandering up behind me … while I’m on my hands and knees, with my back to the forest.
Just the other night the driveway Ring went off … and there went a skinny little junior bear!

I’m so thankful I can work in the garden, in the safety of my “playpen!”
To be sure, the flimsy garden fencing won’t stop a bear or a coyote from getting through if they really wanted to. But just the physical presence and visible barrier is deterrent enough.
Did you know that if you are a follower of Jesus Christ, God himself has a “protective fencing” around you!
You can work with freedom, pouring all your attention and focus on whatever it is God has called you to do in life, resting confidently in the knowledge that you are safe in the “playpen” which God has surrounded you with!
