Last week I headed out to Home Depot to find the 2023 Christmas Village piece. My Home Depot app informed me this piece was not available for online purchase/home delivery, neither was it available at my Home Depot which was close by. However, a different Home Depot across town was listed as having “limited product.”
I was not at all in the mood to drive clear across town, in holiday traffic. But, it was the 2023 Home Depot Christmas Village piece! So off I went.
Only to discover, upon arrival, that that store did not have any Christmas Village pieces either. Sadness.
I spent a good 20 minutes in the Holiday section combing every single shelf looking for a Christmas Village piece which might have accidentally been shuffled to the back. But alas, no pieces were to be found. They were all sold out.
Despondently, I drove back towards home.
My route back home took me right past my Home Depot. The app had clearly said there were no Christmas Village pieces there, but why not stop in anyway and take a look. So, into the parking lot I turned.
Sure enough, the app was correct … no 2023 Christmas Village pieces.
However … since I was here, why not peruse through the garden section. I always love looking at anything green and growing.
Oh, check it out … what cute little cut Christmas trees.
We need a Christmas tree.
But not for that price.
Oh look, what cute little Colorado Blue Spruce trees. Those might make a nice Christmas tree. And the price isn’t that bad either.
But … we already have a Colorado Blue Spruce.
Oooooohh!! Now those trees are pretty!
Leyland Cypress. I’m not all that familiar with cypress trees. They look strikingly similar to a cedar!
Ohh … wouldn’t that be a pretty Christmas tree! We don’t have any cypress trees.
And they even have a pretty red bow on top!
Ok … it’s decided! A Leyland Cypress it is!
Off to the checkout register I headed … with my prize! Where I very soon discovered that my prize was 50% off! $19 … what a deal! I was beyond delighted!! Best Christmas tree we’ve ever purchased!
I made it home with our little cypress Christmas tree, thereupon deciding that a fabulous Christmas tree such as this simply could not be taken inside for the next week only to be dried out by the heat of the house and a strand of Christmas lights. No. It must remain in the nice refreshing cold outdoors! (at least until Christmas Day … upon which it can come inside, for one day only.)
Sitting on the front porch, right beside the front door, would be the perfect spot for our fabulous little cypress Christmas tree!
This way it can bring joy to all the Amazon delivery people! And the mailman! And the UPS delivery dude … who is always so jovial and happy as it is! Who knows, perhaps they might leave our delivery packages under the Christmas tree! Haha! Wouldn’t that be funny!
And … if I happen to wind up with any empty Amazon boxes, I’m totally going to put a big bow on them and place them out on the front porch underneath our Christmas tree! Haha!
And … this way, we can plant our fabulous little Christmas tree in the forest, once Christmas is over. And we can continue to enjoy it all year long! You can’t get a better Christmas tree than that!
Hubby and I are already plotting exactly where we would like to plant it!
