November joys … Sunday-evening hangouts with my daughter!

Near the end of October, as cold weather was approaching, I tidied up the garden and got it ready for its winter rest.    In the process I gathered the few remaining pumpkins  …  although two of the little pumpkins were still dark-green, and had not even begun to turn orange yet.

It was around that same time I took the little plastic orange pumpkin-pail over to my daughter, for her to use in handing out trick-or-treat candy.

Since I had just gathered the remaining pumpkins from the garden, I decided she needed a real pumpkin as a festive Fall decoration.    So I brought along one of the little green pumpkins to give to her  …  just because  …  as an “I love you” gift.

This past Sunday, hubby and I went over to hang out with our daughter for the evening.    She baked  Apple-Puff Pancakes for us (Yum!!)  …  and she made bacon (Yum!!)  …  and she served us fresh apple cider, warmed up on the stove with cinnamon spice added (Amazing!!).    I just have to say, it’s terrific fun to be invited over to your kids’ house for dinner!!

We feasted together on all the delicious yumness, while watching an exciting action/adventure movie!    It was great fun!

In the process of it all, I was greatly surprised to discover that her little green pumpkin had turned a beautiful orange color!   I had no idea green pumpkins could ripen so beautifully if picked so early.   How cool is that!

When we got back home afterwards, I made a point to go look at the other little green pumpkin on my own dining table.    Sure enough, check it out  …  it is turning orange too!

Every time I see my little green-pumpkin-turning-orange I am filled with overwhelming, immense gratitude for the wonderful time hubby and I had hanging out together with our daughter on Sunday evening  …  feasting on Apple-Puff Pancakes and sipping delicious hot Apple Cider!    These are the moments life is made of!    This right here is what life is all about!

Thank you God for November joys!    Thank you for Sunday evening hangouts with our daughter!    And the special loving relationship we have with her!
