It’s November … the month of thankfulness and gratitude!
One of the things I love the most about November is Butterhorn rolls!
These delicious rolls have been a Holiday tradition since I was a little girl. My mom gets all the credit for these delicious rolls. She made them for every Thanksgiving and Christmas as I was growing up. And once I was married, I began making them for every Thanksgiving and Christmas too!
What makes this recipe so delightful is that it is a refrigerator-roll recipe … meaning, you mix the roll dough up the day before, and then it needs to sit in the refrigerator overnight to rise. This is super helpful on Thanksgiving Day … as all you have to do is roll out the rolls, then let them rise for 2 hrs. It makes dinner prep a lot simpler and easier.
I usually only make these rolls for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day … because the waistline simply cannot handle me making them more often than that.
But … since it is November … and since I’m feeling particularly festive … I decided to go ahead and mix up a batch of these special Butterhorn rolls especially for my kids. Because, after all, that’s what moms do. You do crazy “I love you” things for your kids for no apparent reason whatsoever!
TaDa! Fresh, hot out of the oven! Yummy!
And headed out the door … a special “I love you” gift for each of my kids!
Thank you God for November joys! Thank you for special Butterhorn rolls I can share with my kids … for no other reason than I love them!
