Love is joyful.

Love is joyful.

A good sense of humor goes a long way towards recovery.

I think this is why God chose to pair me and my friend together as “travel buddies” for this portion of life’s journey.   As we walked the path of my friend’s spine surgery together, I was joy for her.

Let’s face it – it’s hard to be joyful when we are in pain.   It’s hard to be joyful when we are suffering  …  and hurting.

We desperately need to be able to “borrow” someone else’s joy in order to make it through our hard stretch of life’s journey.

Romans 15:13 says that joy is one of the major keys for having hope.   And hope is vital for recovery

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  – Romans 15:13

Joy is healing!

Love is joyful!
Love laughs.
Love knows how to have fun.

If you are in a season of suffering like my friend, you need for love to be joy for you.   Joyfulness will bring healing  …  both to your soul and your mind, as well as to your body.   Joy will bring hope!

If you do not have someone in your life to be joy for you, God will be joy for you!   You can “borrow”  God’s joy  …  ask him, He will be glad to give you joy.

If you personally are not in a season of suffering, but you know someone who is in a season of suffering like my friend, perhaps you might consider being joy for them.   Come alongside them and let them “borrow” your joy for this stretch of life’s journey.   Your joyfulness can help to bring healing to them  …  soul, mind, and body.

Joy is healing!
