Love heals. Love mends.

Love heals. Love mends.

It takes time to heal.
It takes time to mend.

*  It also takes pain meds to heal & mend.
Obviously.

But it takes a lot more than just time and pain meds in order to heal & mend.

*  It takes rest to heal & mend.

*  It takes a peaceful environment to heal & mend.

*  It takes good food to mend.

*  It takes clean sheets & soft comfy blankets to mend.

*  It takes calls & texts of encouragement from friends to mend.

*  It takes beautiful flower bouquets to mend.

*  It takes freshly baked homemade chocolate chip cookies to mend.

*  It takes laughter to mend.

*  It takes fresh air & sunshine to mend.

A quote I have always loved is:  “Be kind.  Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about.”

What this means is that everyone is more-or-less like my friend after her spine surgery.   Everyone is weak and fragile and wounded in certain hidden places deep down inside.   Everyone has “broken” places deep inside we can’t see.   Everyone has hurts.   Everyone has pain we know nothing about.

Love heals.   Love mends.

Pain meds won’t heal or mend the hurts which many people are carrying around inside them.   Anxiety meds won’t even do it.   Love heals.   Love mends.

God’s love will heal the most broken places deep in our soul.

God’s love will mend the hurt and the pain.

And not only that  …  love from others will go a long way in healing & mending as well!

*   Love is a place of safety and rest  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love is a peaceful environment  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love is encouragement  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love is beauty  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love overflows with the little joys of life  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love gives space and time  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love is laughter and joy  …  so healing can happen.

*   Love is caring  …  so healing can happen.

Love heals.   Love mends.
