Jesus in Philippians

Jesus in Philippians

Today’s gateway is the boarding gate at an airport.

We are boarding the plane of Salvation, through the boarding gate of Jesus Christ.  We’re headed for the Kingdom of Heaven!   As we settle into our seat, we notice an instruction manual in the seatback pocket in front of us … it is the book of Philippians.

The book of Philippians lets us know that aboard the plane of Salvation, through Christ, we can have absolute confidence that we will get to where we need to go!  (Philippians 1:6Philippians 3:14;   Philippians 3:20-21)

As we peruse the instruction manual of Philippians, we are made aware that there will for sure be turbulence throughout the journey!   Life is full of storms!!  Our instruction manual of Philippians lets us know that aboard the plane of Salvation, through Jesus Christ:
–  we receive encouragement from Christ – Philippians 2:1
–  we receive comfort from Christ’s love – Philippians 2:1
–  we have fellowship with the Holy Spirit – Philippians 2:1
–  we do not need to be anxious about anything – Philippians 4:6
–  the Peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our heart and mind – Philippians 4:7
–  the God of Peace will be with us all the way! – Philippians 4:9

And so we find ourselves bouncing around in turbulence! …  our stomachs bottoming out with each dip!  Outside the windows, the dark storm clouds billow! … ominous and frightening!   The instruction manual in the seatback pocket in front of us offers help!
*  Whatever is true – think about those things.   (Philippians 4:8)
*  Whatever is noble – think about those things.  (Philippians 4:8
*  Whatever is right – think about those things.  (Philippians 4:8)
*  Whatever is pure – think about those things.  (Philippians 4:8)
*  Whatever is lovely – think about those things.  (Philippians 4:8)
*  Whatever is admirable – think about those things.  (Philippians 4:8)
*  Whatever is excellent or praiseworthy – think about those things.  (Philippians 4:8)

We are safe.  We are safe in the Salvation, through Jesus Christ.

Therefore, we can have joy … even in the turbulence.
“Rejoice in the Lord!”   – Philippians 3:1
“Rejoice in the Lord always.  I will say it again:  Rejoice!”   – Philippians 4:4

We can have contentment … even in the turbulence.
“I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”   – Philippians 4:11

We can have confidence … even in the turbulence.
“I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength.”   – Philippians 4:13
“God will meet all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”   – Philippians 4:19
