Fall! … Fall is in the air!
The kids are starting a brand-new year of school … a fresh clean slate, new teachers, new friends, new activities, new adventures.
But we find ourselves second-guessing … wondering if we can even have hopes or dreams for this new school year.
Can we really have hope??
Psalm, chapter 33 is a great passage! It opens with: “Sing joyfully to the LORD …” (Psalm 33:1)
The passage describes our praise to the Lord with song and music, then Psalm 33:4-5 declares: “For the Word of the LORD is right and true; He is faithful in all He does. The LORD loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of His unfailing LOVE.”
The passage then describes God’s loving care over the earth He created.
Psalm 33 ends with: “We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name. May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in You.” (Psalm 33:20-22)
We might not know what this next school year will bring. Our well-laid plans might not go the way we expect.
But we absolutely CAN have HOPE, no matter what happens!
We can have HOPE because God is trustworthy!
We can have HOPE because God is faithful!
We can have HOPE because God is in control!
And in that, we REJOICE!
The Fruit of the Spirit is JOY.
