I’m so SAD

I’m so SAD

You will notice that today’s background photo is a “Seattle Rain” candle.

Living in the Pacific Northwest, just about all of us deal with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), especially during that long grey rainy stretch from January thru March when we don’t see the sun for weeks!

But that has not been the case this summer!   We have all just enjoyed one of the most beautiful, sunny, delightful summers in Pacific Northwest history … yet, most of us are feeling SAD.

The winter rains aren’t even supposed to start for another month … yet, we are SAD.

Our hearts are SAD.

Everywhere we look, everything we see … it all makes us so SAD.

James 1:2-3 tells us:  “Consider it pure JOY, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your FAITH develops perseverance.”

It is not our circumstances that give us joy.

No.    It is our FAITH and our HOPE in Jesus Christ that gives us JOY!

Jesus has taken away our sin!
Jesus will one day conquer sin, Satan, and evil forever!
Jesus will take us to be with Him in heaven for eternity!

“The HOPE of the righteous brings JOY.”   –  Proverbs 10:28

Whenever you start to feel SAD … ask the Holy Spirit to take away the sadness and replace it with JOY. He will!

The Holy Spirit will give you the power to overcome the sadness.
The Holy Spirit will protect and guard your mind.
The Holy Spirit will bring to mind reasons to be grateful.
The Holy Spirit will bring to mind blessings.
The Holy Spirit will give you His power of JOY.

The Fruit of the Spirit is JOY.
