There is a lot of hate everywhere in the world around us.
Everywhere we look we see hatred.
The lighthouse in today’s background photo is far, far away. (Destruction Island Light, off the WA coast) This is what happens when hatred happens. Hatred causes division. Hatred separates.
Hatred pulls relationships apart … … until people feel far, far away from each other.
People feel isolated.
People feel disconnected.
People feel alone!
Alone … in the storm of life’s chaos and confusion!
“What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don’t they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don’t get it. You kill [kill with words & hatred] and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight.” -James 4:1-2
How should we respond, when we live in a world filled with so much hatred??
“Above all, LOVE each other deeply, because LOVE covers over a multitude of sins.” -1 Peter 4:8
“LOVE your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” -Matthew 5:44
“LOVE is not easily angered. LOVE is not rude. LOVE keeps no record of wrongs.” -1 Corinthians 13:5
The Fruit of the Spirit is LOVE.
