Gratitude … that there’s room at the table for me!

Gratitude … that there’s room at the table for me!

I was working on preparing Thanksgiving Dinner  …  the turkey was in the oven, and I was just starting to peel the potatoes.   I had been listening to my favorite playlist when the song came on with these lyrics:

“You take me just as I am.
You’d choose me all over again.
I am the one you love.
I am the one you love.

“I don’t have to prove anything.
There’s room at your table for me.
I am the one you love.
I am the one you love.”

This song almost always puts me in tears  …  that God loves me.   I’m nothing special.   I’ve got so many faults, flaws, and failures.   Yet God intentionally chooses to love me.

As I stood in my kitchen fixing Thanksgiving dinner, I paused mid-stride, my eyes filling with tears.   I glanced over at my dining room table  …  all set and prepared for Thanksgiving Dinner with my family.

God has a table just like that in Heaven!   But even better!

And there’s room at God’s table for me!   That’s mind-blowing!

I don’t deserve it.   I didn’t earn it.   But because of Jesus Christ, I’m welcomed freely to God’s table.   Because of Jesus Christ, I’m welcomed with open arms into God’s Heavenly family.   The magnitude of this is so humbling and overwhelming!

There’s room at the table for you too!

You might have lots of faults, flaws, and failures just like me.   But Jesus Christ paid the price to take all of our sin and faults and failures away – so that all of us can be welcomed to God’s table.

If we give our sin to Jesus  …  everything we’ve ever done wrong;  all our faults, flaws, failures  …  Jesus will take it all away!   Jesus will give us a fresh, brand-new start.

And God will welcome us with open arms into His Heavenly family!

There’s room at the table for everyone!

Everyone is invited!

Would you like to be welcomed with open arms into God’s Heavenly family?   Would you like to take your place at the table?   You can.

All you have to do is admit that you are a sinner  …  and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of the world.   Give all your sin to Jesus.   Give all your faults, flaws, failures, and shame to Jesus.   Let Jesus take all that away.

Surrender your life to Jesus  …  and let Jesus give you a fresh, brand-new start!

There’s room at the table for you!
