God’s wedding dance song just for me!

God’s wedding dance song just for me!

Today is the day!    The big day of the Wedding!

There will not be dancing at the wedding.    But the day before I boarded the plane and flew across the country, God gave me my very own personal wedding dance song  …  just for me!

You see, my God knows me very well!  (of course, He created me!)    And my God knows that I continually have a “head radio” playing in my head.   All the time!    I wake up in the mornings with a song playing through my head.    Any time of the day, if you ask me  …  there will be some song playing through my head, on my “head radio.”

The most powerful way I pray is by listening/praying to music!    And likewise, the most powerful way for God to comfort my heart when I am stressed or anxious is also through music!    Music speaks to the deepest level of my soul.

And so  …  as I have been filled with anxiety over having to give a speech at the wedding, my loving God gave me my very own personal wedding dance song!    There is no chance for me to become nauseous from the fear and panic if I’m too busy dancing!!

And so  …  I have been listening to my very own personal wedding dance song over and over on repeat!

I have been dancing in my kitchen!    And I have been grabbing hold of and claiming the words of the song!

I can picture myself getting on the airplane  …  and just like in the movies, (in my mind) I can picture myself sitting there flying to the wedding while this song plays in the background:

“When I’m tired and running outta’ rope
I’m reminded You’re my only hope
The impossible is possible when I trust and let go

“So I can either try to keep control
Or I can let You come steal the show
A leap of faith’s just a word away
I go with Your flow

“When I say
Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
I make room for You to do the things You do
When I say yes”

Have you seen those movies where the fun upbeat music is jamming away as the bridesmaids come bee-boppin’ and dancing down the aisle?    This is totally what I see in my mind.

The time comes for me to walk down the aisle, on the arm of the best man.    It is a very serious occasion.    Everyone in the sanctuary sees a perfectly serious “me” calmly escorted down the aisle on the arm of the best man.

But that’s not what’s going on “behind the scenes.”    “Behind the scenes” (in my mind) what everyone can’t see is that really this song is cranking  …  and me and the best man are bee-boppin’ and dancing down the aisle to the beat!

“Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
I make room for You to do the things You do
When I say yes!

“So I say yes, Lord  (Yes, Lord!)
Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
My soul comes alive and joy abides
When I say yes”

The wedding ceremony progresses.    It is a very serious occasion, and everyone is on their most perfect behavior.    I stand perfectly still and perfectly serious in my place.    But what everyone can’t see is that “behind the scenes” (in my mind)  I’m bee-boppin’ and dancing in my place!

“So I say yes, Lord  (Yes, Lord!)
Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
My soul comes alive and joy abides
When I say yes!”

We all head to the reception.    The best man is called upon to give a speech.    He heads up to the mic  …  but am I freaking out?    Not at all.    “Behind the scenes”  (in my mind)  I’m standing there on the sidelines bee-boppin’ away!

“Yes, Lord  (Yes, Lord!)
Yes, Lord  (Yes, Lord!)
I get to see so many beautiful things
When I say yes

“I’ll say yes, Lord  (Yes!)
Oh, Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
I make room for You to do the things You do
When I say yes!”

It’s now my turn.    I head up to the mic.

The speech I have prepared is humorous.    But I don’t know anyone at this wedding.    I have no idea if the audience will be super serious  …  or favorably disposed towards humor.    I have several jokes included in my speech.    Will the audience relax and laugh and have a good time with the humor??    Or will my jokes fall flat on the floor like a lead balloon??

I take the mic  …  and in my mind I see it just like in the movies!    Have you seen those movies with the fun epic ending where everyone pushes back their chairs and stands up and starts dancing!    That’s totally what I see in my mind.

I start my speech  …  and just like in the movies, (in my mind) people drop what they are doing, they push back their chairs and they all get to their feet and start dancing!    They raise their hands in the air having a good time!    Everyone is laughing and smiling!

“So I say yes, Lord  (Yes, Lord!)
Oh, Yes, Lord  (Yes!)
My soul comes alive and joy abides
When I say yes!

“So I say yes  (Yes, Lord!)
So I say yes!”

In my mind, the music is cranking!    Grandpa is bee-boppin’ with Grandma!    Little kids are dancing with the adults!    Smiles are on everyone’s faces!    Just like in the movies  …

“When You call me to step out  (Yes, Lord!)
I won’t look down
I won’t freak out, No!

“The impossible  (Yes, Lord!)
Becomes possible  (Possible!)
The leap of faith
Is just one simple word away
Yes!”

Thank you God for my very own wedding dance song!
