It has been lightly raining on and off all morning. The sound of rain falling on the leaves in the forest is such a beautiful sound! Especially after all the dryness and summer heat.
A few months ago, my daughter was given a small gift basket at work. Included in the gift basket was a light-blue paper flower … which contained wildflower seeds. The instructions said to place the paper flower in a pot and lightly cover with dirt … then to water and keep moist until the seeds sprout.
Of course my daughter doubted her “green-thumb” ability to get the seeds to sprout. So she entrusted the light-blue paper flower to my care.
Delighted, I “planted” the light-blue paper flower underneath a shallow layer of dirt … in a pretty red ceramic pot which once belonged to my daughter.
I watered the paper flower and kept it moist … and sure enough! … the seeds sprouted.
Faithfully, I cared for the little wildflower sprouts as they stretched and grew tall … until the big day arrived when they could graduate to growing outside, in the great big outdoors!
It has been a hot summer … but the little wildflowers have persevered! (helped along by faithful watering)
And now they are blooming!
As the rain has been falling today, I couldn’t help but be drawn to the beauty of the raindrops on the flower petals of the little wildflowers. God’s glory on display!
From tiny little seeds (concealed in a paper flower) … to timid little sprouts … to tenacious stems of greenery … to pinkish-purple blooms supporting delicate little raindrops. It’s all God’s glory on display!
Thank you God for revealing Yourself through nature in such amazing ways … so that we are drawn to worship and praise You!
Thank you God for Your glory on display!
