The Fruit of the Spirit is KINDNESS.
Yesterday we considered that God is a God of great PATIENCE and LOVE! “God is PATIENT, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” -2 Peter 3:9b
Today, as we turn our attention to the Fruit of the Spirit KINDNESS, we see that “God’s KINDNESS leads you toward repentance.” -Romans 2:4b
You will notice in today’s background photo that pathway lighting is brilliantly illuminating the way to the Sanctuary. This is a good picture of God’s KINDNESS! God’s KINDNESS is brilliant illumination leading people to His salvation!
- “But when the KINDNESS and LOVE of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy.” -Titus 3:4
- “God expressed His KINDNESS to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” -Ephesians 2:7b-8
This next week, as we take a look at the Fruit of the Spirit KINDNESS, we will focus on the Holy Spirit’s work of drawing people to Jesus. In John 6:44 Jesus states: “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.” One of the primary roles of the Holy Spirit is to draw people to Jesus!
How does the Holy Spirit draw people to Jesus?? KINDNESS. It is “God’s KINDNESS that leads you toward repentance.” (Romans 2:4b)
Fruit of the Spirit KINDNESS is completely different from the normal everyday kindness of which we typically think.
Fruit of the Spirit KINDNESS brilliantly illuminates the dark path of life with the LIGHT of Jesus! Fruit of the Spirit KINDNESS leads people to Jesus!
