The Fruit of the Spirit is FAITHFULNESS.
Our Daily-verses today state:
* “Pray CONTINUALLY.” -1 Thessalonians 5:17
* “Be FAITHFUL in prayer.” -Romans 12:12b
We are in a spiritual war!
“Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” -Ephesians 6:10-12
“Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind [the fact that we are in active spiritual warfare!], be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”
-Ephesians 6:18
How exactly do we do this?? Colossians 1:9-11 offers a good example for what this looks like:
“We have not stopped praying for you:
- We pray that God will fill you with the knowledge of His will.
- We pray that you may live a life worthy of the Lord.
- We pray that you will bear fruit in every good work.
- We pray that you would grow in the knowledge of God.
- We pray that you would be strengthened with all power according to His glorious might.
- We pray that you would have great endurance.
- We pray that you would have great patience.
- We pray that you will have joy.”
-Colossians 1:9-11
The Fruit of the Spirit is FAITHFULNESS. This includes FAITHFULNESS in PRAYER! “Pray IN THE SPIRIT on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.” -Ephesians 6:18
The Holy Spirit knows what is going on in the spiritual realm as it relates to the spiritual forces of evil and the spiritual battle we are engaged in. The Holy Spirit will guide and direct us how to pray, as proactive offensive action against the enemy. We need to remain FAITHFUL in PRAYER!
