Bubbles on the Breeze

Bubbles on the Breeze

It’s an amazing thing to watch bubbles float on the breeze!  To see the wind catch them … and carry them high up into the brilliant blue sky … where they sparkle with color as the sunlight catches them!

As I watch bubbles floating on the breeze, I can’t help but think of Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Our acts of service for God are like “bubbles” … caught by the wind of the Holy Spirit … and carried away on the breeze of life, to sparkle for His paise and glory!

When bubbles float by on the breeze, people can’t help but stop and notice!

In the same way, when our “bubbles” of service for God float by on the breeze of life, people can’t help but notice …  Jesus, the Son (sun!) sparkling with brilliance through our “bubbles” of service for Him!

But … have you ever blown bubbles only to see them all fall flat and pop to nothing on the grass?   To be honest, sometimes pouring ourselves out in service to God feels like this.  It feels like we are blowing and blowing bubbles of praise and service … only to have them fall flat and pop to nothing.

Serving God takes faith!  It takes faith to keep “blowing bubbles” of service for God … even though it feels like they are all just popping on the ground.  The thing is, we don’t actually know that they are all popping on the ground.   Most of the time we will never see what the wind of the Holy Spirit is doing with those “bubbles” of service for God.

John 3:8 – The wind blows wherever it pleases.  You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going.  So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Keep blowing bubbles!   Bubbles on the breeze!

With the “wind” of the Holy Spirit carrying them away … away to places we will never know.

We will never truly know how God chooses to use our acts of service for Him.  We will never know the people who saw the love and sparkle of Jesus on display through our acts of service for Him!
