Bobcat!

Bobcat!

I was sitting here on my front porch typing up devotionals for my precious little friends up in Alaska. When out of the corner of my eye I saw cat paws. (didn’t hear a sound … just delicate cat paws moving across the grass)

I didn’t think anything of it and kept right on typing … it’s just the neighbor’s cat who comes over to prowl around every now and then.

Then the cat came into view from behind the porch screen … and I did a double-take. That’s not the neighbor’s cat! That’s … that’s the bobcat!

This is only the second time I have ever seen the bobcat in real time. The bobcat paused mid-stride, turned and gave me the sweetest look … while I fumbled to grab my phone for a photo.

By the time I got my phone up and snapped a photo, the bobcat had turned and was moving on. In another instant … it was gone.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again! … “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a [silent stealthy bobcat] looking for someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a [silent stealthy bobcat], seeking someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8 (NLT)

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a [silent stealthy bobcat], seeking someone to devour.” – 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)
