Blessings in the garbage bin!

Blessings in the garbage bin!

Hubby went out to put the garbage in the bin and roll the bin out to the street  …  and lo and behold!  …  there was a little frog resting in the garbage bin!

How cool is that!

What I think is so amazing is that this little frog’s dark-green camouflage blends in nicely with the dark-green color of the garbage bin  …  whereas the little frog which hubby and I discovered in the garden (resting on the pumpkin leaf)  had a much lighter shade of green, which perfectly matched the color of the pumpkin leaves.

Who told this little frog that it had dark-green camouflage, which would blend in nicely with the dark green of the garbage bin  …  and therefore that would be a good place to hide??

On the other hand, who told the little frog in the garden that it had light-green camouflage, which was a perfect match to blend in with the light-green pumpkin leaves??

How did these little frogs know which shade of green their camouflage was??

God.

God made them each with their own individualized camouflage-coloring and patterning  …  and God helped them to instinctively know.

God is amazing!

I was further thinking  …  this little camouflaged frog-blessing was in the garbage bin.

Do we ever expect to find a blessing in the garbage??    No!

Life throws a lot of “garbage” at us.    Nasty stuff.    People being mean to us.    People taking advantage of us.    Work problems.    Job loss.    Health challenges.    Relational drama.    Just plain “garbage.”

God can bring blessings even out of the “garbage.”    It might not seem like it  …  but hidden in the mess of it all, God can bring something good out of it!  …  lessons which make us stronger;    preparation for something God has waiting for us in the future;    character which is being developed in us:  skills of patience and endurance;  …  etc. …

If you are dealing with a lot of “garbage” right now  …  God probably has a little blessing hidden in there, somewhere  …  just like the little frog-blessing in our garbage bin.    It might be camouflaged.    But it’s there.
