There are two vastly different zucchini pictured here … one is large, green, & healthy; the other is tiny, yellow, & shriveled. What is the difference??
The difference lies in the fact that one zucchini was properly pollinated; the other was not.
When rain … or garden sprayers … douse blooms, bees are unable to do their job of pollinating the fruit. As a result, the fruit withers and dies.
This same thing can happen in our spiritual lives when it comes to bearing Kingdom Fruit. If our souls are being regularly doused by the current culture of bitterness, rage, anger, slander, and malice (Ephesians 4:31), then the Holy Spirit will not be able to do the work of developing Kingdom Fruit in our lives: kindness, compassion, forgiveness, love (Ephesians 4:32-5:2).
In much the same way, our souls will wither … like the tiny, shriveled, yellow zucchini pictured here.
