Love doesn’t require perfection.

Love doesn’t require perfection.

None of us are perfect.  Sooner or later those whom we care about will fail us.  And invariably we’ll fail them.  They will make mistakes;  they will make poor choices.   Life will “life” on them with sickness, hospitalization, job loss, heartache, etc. …   Eventually they find themselves like the lighthouse pictured here.  It’s not perfect.  It doesn’t even have a light anymore.

This is what happens to us all in life.   We wind up so beaten down by the storms of life that we don’t even have a light left to shine anymore.

Love doesn’t require perfection.

When those whom we care about make mistakes and fail us, love still shines out a beacon to them!

When those whom we care for have reached their end and have nothing left to offer … love still shines out a beacon to them.  Love doesn’t require perfection.

Love comes alongside the ones in our life whom we care for, who are batteredbeaten downworn, and weary … and love “picks up a paintbrush.”   Love helps restore.   Love helps repair damage.   Love helps get the light going again.

This is what love does  …  because love is tenacious!

This is what love does  …  because love flows from God!

Love doesn’t require perfection.  Love rolls up its sleeves and puts in the effort to help the battered lighthouse become beautiful again.
