In the process of putting the Christmas decorations away yesterday I came across the adorable little “freaking out!” ghost (it had been propping up my warm cozy Christmas scene on a decorative Christmas card).
The adorable little “freaking out!” ghost was too cute to stuff away in a storage tub, so I decided to put it underneath my kitchen cupboard. I opened up the cupboard doors and plopped the little ghost in a Valentine’s emoji bowl (which at one time had held a candy bouquet).
Immediately I was struck with how comical this was! Check it out! Is that not funny!
I couldn’t help thinking: “About the time we get through ‘freaking out!’ over the Holidays, it’s time now to be ‘freaking out!’ about Valentine’s Day!”
It’s true! No sooner do the Christmas decorations get put away than the grocery store shelves are brimming over with Valentine merchandise. And now everyone is “freaking out!” trying to purchase the perfect piece of romantic jewelry; “freaking out!” about purchasing cards, and roses, and candy. Or … “freaking out!” because there isn’t “someone special” and Valentine’s is the worst holiday ever! Etc. etc. etc. …
The thing is – there will always be something to “freak out” about! Always!
There will never not be something to “freak out!” about.
The choice is up to us. We can either choose to “freak out!” each day … thereby making ourselves miserable, making everyone around us miserable, and causing ourselves health problems!
Or … we can choose to be grateful each day for the blessings that each day holds!
The choice is up to us.
There will always be something to “freak out!” about.
And … there will likewise always be something to be grateful about.
The choice is up to us.
