We awoke this morning, and 595,000 people in our area were without power.
Yesterday afternoon a “Bomb Cyclone” was sitting offshore out in the Pacific.
The low pressure of the “Bomb Cyclone” created a massive windstorm! … as the high pressure east of the mountains rushed westward to equalize out.
I had a really important project I was working on last night, and I desperately needed the power to remain on in order to finish my project. I needed the computer a bit, but mainly I just needed the lights to stay on!
Likewise, hubby also had a very important project he was working on. And he likewise very much needed the power to remain on. His project relied entirely on the computer/internet.
All afternoon yesterday, leading up to the windstorm, I was praying that God would please keep our power on so I could finish my project!
All evening last night, as our power continually flickered … and as we kept having brown-out after brown-out after brown-out … I was desperately praying: “God please keep our power on so I can finish this important project!”
The wind gusts were fierce and frightening!
It was intense out there in the dark!
Hubby heard a tree crack! … and come crashing down somewhere in the forest!
Tree debris landed on our roof with a startling, jarring clatter!
And through it all, our power never went out.
Hubby and I were both able to finish our really important projects! Thank you Jesus!
We went to bed, fully expecting to lose power during the night. But when we woke up this morning, we had not lost power – at all.
Everyone we know has lost power.
We look at the power outage map, and the entire area to the east of us is out of power.
Everywhere north and south of us is out of power.
The area to the west of us is out of power.
Yet … in a tiny little protected pocket, our power remains on.
That is an absolute miracle.
God did that! No doubt about it!
Why did God choose to spare us and keep our power on?
Because God is that good!
And because God answers prayer!
It’s a mess out there today! Hubby went in to work like normal this morning, but there was no power at work, so he came back home again. Trees are down and power lines are down everywhere!
Hubby and I had a giant tree come down in our front forest area.
This particular tree we had been expecting; it was just a matter of time. And to be honest, we were quite pleased with how God felled it for us. It landed in a perfect spot without damaging any other trees. The tip-top of the tree just brushed across our driveway, without blocking our ability to get out. Thank you Jesus!
The photos for today’s verses are of this tree – which came down in the windstorm. Proof that what these verses are saying is absolutely true! God absolutely is a shelter in the storm!
No tree fell on our house. Thank you Jesus! No tree fell on our cars. Thank you Jesus! No tree fell on our propane tank. Thank you Jesus! God absolutely is a shelter in the storm!
Thank you God for being a shelter in the storm for us!
Thank you God for answered prayer! Prayer absolutely works!

God is good! … all the time!
And all the time … God is good!
