Our ceiling fan has recently given out. Normally, hubby would just replace it. But … as you can see from the photo, this ceiling fan is located in a particularly precarious spot … high above the stairs, where even the tallest rung of a stepladder can barely reach.
We need help.
Several different electrical contractors have informed us that according to OSHA standards (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) scaffolding will need to be set up in the stairwell in order to replace the ceiling fan. (I’ll leave you to guess what all this would cost.)
So, hubby and I have decided to “ignore” the problem. Afterall, a ceiling fan isn’t that big of a deal … is it?
It’s not that big of a deal until … the temps. rise to 95* … and remain there for days on end! … and there is no AC in the house.
With 95* outside, and 85* inside it gets really hot and stuffy! Especially when there is no air flow or air movement. We have discovered that box fans simply cannot make up for the air movement produced by the ceiling fan.
When it comes to relationships, communication is like the “air movement” produced by the ceiling fan. As long as communication is working in a relationship, the “air is flowing” and everything is great. But as soon as communication breaks down … things start to get really stuffy!
