The Fruit of the Spirit is FAITHFULNESS.
Last week we saw that GOODNESS, in its essence, is that which is RIGHT and that which is TRUE.
Yesterday we pondered how all the rules keep changing. There no longer is any standard for what is right or wrong anymore. There no longer is any standard for what is true or not anymore. As a society, we have no idea what is good or not.
And as a result, faithfulness has vanished. We no longer can count on customer service to be faithful. We no longer can count on products, goods, or services to be faithful or available. We no longer can count on people, in general, to be faithful anymore.
In turn, that which is GOOD is gone. Good customer service has become scarce! Good products are hard to come by! Good loyal friendships/working relationships are rare!
Dependable … gone.
Reliable … gone.
Loyalty … gone.
Trustworthy … gone.
When the standards of what is RIGHT and what is TRUE vanish, so also does FAITHFULNESS vanish.
But … God is FAITHFUL! God is RIGHTEOUS! God is TRUTH!
- “The Word of the LORD is RIGHT and TRUE; He is FAITHFUL in all He does.” -Psalm 33:4
- “RIGHTEOUSNESS and justice are the foundation of Your throne; LOVE and FAITHFULNESS go before You.” -Psalm 89:14
* God is totally dependable!
* God is totally reliable!
* God is totally loyal!
* God is totally trustworthy!
* God is GOOD!
“For the LORD is GOOD and His LOVE endures FOREVER; His FAITHFULNESS continues through all generations.” -Psalm 100:5
The Fruit of the Spirit is FAITHFULNESS. The power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives will result in our lives being characterized by the very FAITHFULNESS of God Himself.
* We will be dependable!
* We will be reliable!
* We will be loyal!
* We will be trustworthy!
* We will do what is GOOD!
* We will do what is RIGHT!
* We will live lives of TRUTH and honesty!
All because of the power of the Holy Spirit!
The Fruit of the Spirit is FAITHFULNESS.
